Avis has been married for 28 years and has three adult children and ten grandchildren. Avis holds a master’s degree in Strategic Communication and prides herself on teaching and exposing deeply entrenched cultural communication habits that hinder communication, while depositing skills and bringing awareness to communication habits proven to enhance all relationships. Avis has authored two books concerning the value of strategic communication (Talk is Cheap Until it Costs You Everything, and The Good Fight for My Marriage). Avis strongly believes when you understand “Why you communicate the way you do” the better equipped you are to manage “What you communicate, in the most effective way.” Avis has been in corporate leadership as a Chief Executive Director for more than a decade. She has a dedicated staff and gives God all the praise for the role she plays in the lives of so many and the spiritual lessons she is allowed to display to her staff and the community she serves. Avis knows assuredly, it is a spiritual example that the world needs today more than anything. She gives all praise to God for keeping His hands on her life even when she was experiencing her Jonah season of rebellion. She has transformed from convinced to converted with the heart to be a true ambassador of the Almighty God!
