00:00:00.762 --> 00:00:07.459
If you watch anyone close enough, you're going to find a contradiction which is going to undo and unpack.

00:00:07.459 --> 00:00:31.367
But what the new convert needs to understand and what Moses needs to understand and we will read that he did understand that is that there is grace, that your perfection is actually made in you striving for perfection, it's in the progress of.

00:00:31.367 --> 00:00:41.015
So when I listen to people do the interview and they try to compare Christianity as a whole with the performance of people, it's like no, you're missing it.

00:00:42.220 --> 00:00:47.453
Welcome to the Call by God podcast with Adney Godin and myself, nixon Sylvain.

00:00:47.453 --> 00:00:54.414
This show is about dialogues of biblical characters and testimonies of Christians who submitted to the will of God.

00:00:54.414 --> 00:01:00.612
Each week we bring on one guest so that they can share their story of how they were called by God.

00:01:00.612 --> 00:01:03.728
I hope this show inspires you.

00:01:03.728 --> 00:01:09.084
Enjoy Hello and welcome world to the Call by God.

00:01:09.084 --> 00:01:09.966
I hope this show inspires you.

00:01:09.966 --> 00:01:11.612
Enjoy Hello and welcome world to the Call by God podcast.

00:01:11.612 --> 00:01:17.231
I'm yours truly brother Nick, and I'm here with my co-host, sister Adni Godin, and we have a special guest by the name of brother Ray Gosa.

00:01:17.231 --> 00:01:20.141
He's not even a special guest, he's a friend to the show.

00:01:20.141 --> 00:01:22.688
How y'all doing on this blessed day?

00:01:22.688 --> 00:01:24.031
I'm blessed, blessed.

00:01:24.031 --> 00:01:24.572
How are you, nick?

00:01:24.572 --> 00:01:25.493
I'm blessed.

00:01:25.493 --> 00:01:26.802
I'm blessed, adni, why you got that?

00:01:26.802 --> 00:01:27.927
Look on your face?

00:01:28.460 --> 00:01:30.106
Because I was waiting for him to say something.

00:01:30.106 --> 00:01:32.024
I'm doing amazing.

00:01:32.024 --> 00:01:33.468
Y'all Just keep me in prayer.

00:01:33.468 --> 00:01:37.984
I'm going to a funeral Once we're done.

00:01:37.984 --> 00:01:40.070
This lady lost her only child.

00:01:40.070 --> 00:01:41.180
She's not a member of the body.

00:01:41.200 --> 00:01:41.721
Oh no.

00:01:41.822 --> 00:01:48.087
So the Lord laid it on my heart Go, show her what you know a child of God does.

00:01:48.087 --> 00:01:50.468
I may not know you, but I'm here to encourage you.

00:01:50.468 --> 00:01:55.573
Type situation, and then we're going to watch the play right afterwards.

00:01:55.573 --> 00:02:00.701
Right, they recorded the play I was in, so oh, really.

00:02:00.701 --> 00:02:04.046
Yeah, I'm going to go see the play.

00:02:04.046 --> 00:02:06.370
Just sit down and just watch.

00:02:07.210 --> 00:02:12.561
Ray, did you know that Adney played in this Jesus play Like at Bold the?

00:02:12.580 --> 00:02:13.263
Christ, Church of Christ.

00:02:13.263 --> 00:02:16.050
I mean, and here you're calling me the special guest.

00:02:16.050 --> 00:02:20.611
I mean I just want her to sign one of my double chins, that's it and we'll be good.

00:02:20.611 --> 00:02:28.429
And for those that are listening, that was a pre-recorded joke Not to be taken out of context in any sort of way.

00:02:28.429 --> 00:02:29.705
It's a family show.

00:02:29.705 --> 00:02:32.854
But you know you should step it up, Ray.

00:02:32.854 --> 00:02:33.560
You subbed the dust.

00:02:33.560 --> 00:02:43.687
So yeah, special guest Adney, you know she is with Jesus, literally, and talking about Jesus, and it's great.

00:02:43.687 --> 00:02:44.823
I have nothing more to say.

00:02:44.823 --> 00:02:52.147
All right, Nick, come on, You're going to have to steer this ship because we're going to start just floating off into the third heaven here.

00:02:54.183 --> 00:02:55.710
Yeah, so this is a fellowship.

00:02:55.710 --> 00:03:01.606
The last time we were on here, we discussed Aaron, and that's what this episode is about.

00:03:01.606 --> 00:03:02.430
It's about Aaron.

00:03:02.430 --> 00:03:10.330
We discussed how Aaron he is the siblings of Miriam and Moses, and we also talked about how Aaron was called.

00:03:10.330 --> 00:03:19.110
You know, moses was talking to God, having a back and forth conversation with God, and God told Moses hey, you know what about your brother Aaron?

00:03:19.110 --> 00:03:32.412
So Aaron was called into ministry and he was Moses'-hand man, not only a sibling, but his right-hand man, and both of them went before Pharaoh and Aaron was the spokesperson.

00:03:32.412 --> 00:03:35.906
He was the spokesperson, both he and Moses.

00:03:35.906 --> 00:03:38.570
And then, of course, moses was.

00:03:38.591 --> 00:03:57.776
So when the children of God got delivered, they was wandering in the wilderness and by the mountain and Moses had, you know, had a discussion, went up to the mountain and was having a dialogue with God, and then they doing miraculous things and, of course, the children of Israel decided that they wanted to build a calf.

00:03:57.776 --> 00:04:08.614
We talked about this on part one, because Aaron, the leader, aaron, was in their presence and the people told them hey, let's build the cap.

00:04:08.614 --> 00:04:28.416
And we're going to say that these are the gods that delivered us out of the hand of Pharaoh in Egypt and Exodus 32, verse 19 and 22.

00:04:28.416 --> 00:04:34.673
This is where Moses came down and Moses is like what in the world is going on?

00:04:34.673 --> 00:04:39.225
So, adney, if you will, can you go ahead and read it, and then we're just going to have a dialogue.

00:04:39.225 --> 00:04:40.425
What happened, right?

00:04:40.425 --> 00:05:05.841
I'm sure the people want to know, like what happened after Aaron and the people built the golden calf and burned it.

00:05:05.860 --> 00:05:07.624
Then he ground it into powder, threw it into the water and forced the people to drink it.

00:05:07.624 --> 00:05:14.925
Finally, he turned to Aaron and demanded what did these people do to make you bring such terrible sin upon them?

00:05:14.925 --> 00:05:17.290
Don't get upset, my Lord.

00:05:17.290 --> 00:05:21.944
Hold on, don't get upset, my Lord.

00:05:21.944 --> 00:05:25.992
Aaron replied you yourself know how evil these people are.

00:05:25.992 --> 00:05:29.589
They said to me make us gods who will lead us.

00:05:29.589 --> 00:05:35.446
We don't know what happened to this fellow Moses who brought us here from the land of Egypt.

00:05:35.446 --> 00:05:39.694
So I told them whoever has gold jewelry, take it off.

00:05:39.694 --> 00:05:44.552
When they brought it to me, I simply threw it into the fire, and out came this calf.

00:05:44.552 --> 00:05:46.540
When they brought it to me, I simply threw it into the fire and out came this calf.

00:05:46.540 --> 00:05:53.365
And Moses saw that Aaron had let the people get completely out of control, much to the amusement of their enemies.

00:05:53.365 --> 00:06:01.790
So he stood at the entrance of the camp and shouted all of you who are on the Lord's side, come here and join me.

00:06:01.790 --> 00:06:04.552
And all the Levites gathered around him.

00:06:05.471 --> 00:06:15.017
Amen, amen and Ray, what are your thoughts on some of the things that Aaron did when Moses confronted Aaron?

00:06:19.880 --> 00:06:24.696
You know, there's, of course, always a lot to unpack.

00:06:24.696 --> 00:06:29.725
I mean being, last time we spoke it was like all right, well, what were we?

00:06:29.725 --> 00:06:30.406
What was people supposed to do?

00:06:30.406 --> 00:06:31.230
Like how would we be any different?

00:06:31.230 --> 00:06:35.528
How long will we be able to stay in idle, not knowing what's going on?

00:06:35.528 --> 00:06:45.560
We're like we're in the woods, like it's turned into a Blair witch project, which is an old movie reference, and now it's like all right, so we have to do something right, or do we just sit here?

00:06:45.560 --> 00:06:48.766
You know, does Moses need help?

00:06:48.766 --> 00:06:49.187
We don't know.

00:06:49.206 --> 00:06:56.346
So they go back to their old ways, and it's so important.

00:06:56.346 --> 00:07:07.692
What's coming to me is that, especially let's take it from a new convert perspective the new convert has not been able to walk with God yet.

00:07:07.692 --> 00:07:08.785
They don't know what that looks like.

00:07:08.785 --> 00:07:14.904
So all they have is just their old tendencies, all they have and all they know.

00:07:14.904 --> 00:07:22.850
Maybe it's in good faith, Maybe it's coming from a good place, it's just wrongly utilized.

00:07:22.850 --> 00:07:38.605
It's like that energy that was for your previous life and now that you've come out of Pharaoh's house, you've gone through the water and now, here you are, don't stand idly by.

00:07:38.605 --> 00:07:59.653
So, from a ministerial standpoint, we, as the church, we have to really understand that there are babes in Christ for a reason and they will easily be led astray because they can find the good in the old ways, even though it is extremely opposed to their new way of life.

00:07:59.653 --> 00:08:10.855
So I believe number one this is a call for assignment of the mature Christian to take the young babes under their arms and guide them.

00:08:11.879 --> 00:08:22.480
Understand that some people they don't know what to do on Friday night after becoming saved If there's nothing going on at the church like what do you do what you usually do?

00:08:22.480 --> 00:08:24.802
What do you do what you usually do?

00:08:24.802 --> 00:08:25.882
They don't know.

00:08:25.882 --> 00:08:33.525
Are there better radio stations or things to watch or people to be around after becoming saved?

00:08:33.525 --> 00:08:41.269
Because if not, that golden calf is going to just miraculously show up out of nowhere and you're not even going to know how you did it.

00:08:41.269 --> 00:09:02.077
And this is also the danger of the parts of tradition, because you can be hardwired for some things and there needs to be some sort of familiarity with a protocol and what tradition will do is you won't even question it.

00:09:02.077 --> 00:09:06.884
You're just like, well, of course we're going to do this, like, of course I'm still going to.

00:09:06.884 --> 00:09:19.245
You know, go on certain websites and I'm just looking and and it's like, oh, I'm just going to go over a friend's house, so yeah, I know it's a little late, but and then, like oops, I slipped.

00:09:19.245 --> 00:09:20.167
And well, okay, yeah, she fell in.

00:09:20.167 --> 00:09:23.030
Okay, yeah, the, the calf just raised all by itself.

00:09:23.030 --> 00:09:25.775
I had nothing to do with that.

00:09:26.200 --> 00:09:32.246
You know how these people are, aka, you know what world we live in, you know what society is like.

00:09:32.246 --> 00:09:42.034
So it's one thing to give Aaron a pass and it's another thing to say, well, moses, what were your instructions?

00:09:42.034 --> 00:09:46.361
Now, granted, maybe you didn't have instructions because you don't know what's going on.

00:09:46.361 --> 00:10:01.748
But at the same time, it's like there has to be a balance, because I believe that sometimes the church does a lot of damage in the way they deal with people, especially when found in error or, in this case, found with Aaron.

00:10:01.748 --> 00:10:05.274
We can discourage them.

00:10:05.919 --> 00:10:13.126
Now, at this point in time in the scriptures yeah, the people had a different type of fabric about them they can hear a hard message.

00:10:13.126 --> 00:10:28.418
We, on the other hand, this day, we are increasingly becoming more sensitive to how things are being put and, yes, truth and love, but that needs to have its evolution.

00:10:28.418 --> 00:10:41.974
That's saying that we start to tolerate, to the point of conforming and compromising our position, but having a special way of communicating effectively.

00:10:41.974 --> 00:10:45.803
Now here we see in Scripture that, yeah, the people did receive it.

00:10:45.803 --> 00:10:47.187
It's like well, what else are you going to do?

00:10:47.187 --> 00:10:51.263
You made us drink our own, you know altar.

00:10:51.263 --> 00:10:53.187
So, yeah, that's not happening.

00:10:53.187 --> 00:11:01.639
But had there been other choices, how many would have, you know, chosen the side of God, which is the challenge that we are faced with.

00:11:02.360 --> 00:11:12.801
I've seen so many times where good people were ran away by religious people and, honestly, I was one of them.

00:11:12.801 --> 00:11:28.721
Now, I may not have been one-on-one with them, but the way I would go about teaching it's like well, listen, can you be skilled enough to land with that person while also giving the meat to the more seasoned person?

00:11:28.721 --> 00:11:39.599
So here we're seeing a I guess you can call it a HR problem, human resources issue.

00:11:39.599 --> 00:11:43.802
Like, how do you deal with effective discipline?

00:11:43.802 --> 00:11:46.384
Oh, it can be harsh and you can get your point across.

00:11:46.384 --> 00:11:57.450
But was it effective here?

00:11:57.450 --> 00:12:02.115
Yeah, I mean it was, but for us we got to make sure that we don't come unglued and just throw down the whole tablet.

00:12:02.215 --> 00:12:04.035
You know, did Moses go overboard with destroying the calf?

00:12:04.035 --> 00:12:06.379
You know grinding up and in the water and making the people drink it.

00:12:06.379 --> 00:12:19.892
I mean, I mean I don't know, I don't know, like maybe I'm not sure that's what God told him or that's just how Moses gets when he gets in his bag, like when he gets mad.

00:12:19.892 --> 00:12:25.322
You go, you don't make you do all of that, but I think that's something to take away from just this part of it.

00:12:25.322 --> 00:12:31.291
But you also see that Aaron blames the people.

00:12:31.291 --> 00:12:43.298
He doesn't take any responsibility, which is scary, because it's kind of a narcissistic tendency to say, oh well, look what they made me do.

00:12:43.298 --> 00:12:47.081
And you know, these are the same people that will say, oh, you make me mad.

00:12:47.081 --> 00:12:51.826
See you mad, you can become mad.

00:12:51.826 --> 00:13:07.232
You can choose to be mad after what they say, or you can govern yourself and say listen, society does not dictate a person's actions.

00:13:07.253 --> 00:13:08.695
I heard this quote and I'll never forget it.

00:13:08.695 --> 00:13:27.971
I forgot who said it, but it was something like said it, but it was something like in our final day, we will not be judged on what we believe you, you will be judged on what you knew.

00:13:27.971 --> 00:13:28.513
Aaron, what did you know?

00:13:28.513 --> 00:13:29.553
I know that's what you believe, but you knew better.

00:13:29.553 --> 00:13:31.014
So that's that's where you'll be judged.

00:13:31.014 --> 00:13:31.936
So that's where you'll be judged.

00:13:31.956 --> 00:13:42.666
I'm loving that you brought it in this angle, because one thing we have to realize as Christians we're going to have new converts.

00:13:42.666 --> 00:13:57.325
They do have a past and in them having a past, we have to start teaching them to release the past, to walk in the newness of life.

00:13:57.325 --> 00:14:08.192
That's called having a relationship right.

00:14:08.192 --> 00:14:11.057
We, in the body, we've baptized without establishing relationship.

00:14:11.057 --> 00:14:14.604
You're baptizing people and you don't even know who they are.

00:14:14.604 --> 00:14:16.553
They don't even know who you are.

00:14:16.553 --> 00:14:20.525
I'm going to take us to New Testament.

00:14:20.525 --> 00:14:32.221
Our Lord and Savior had relationship with people and in him having a relationship with him, they became his disciples, became his disciples.

00:14:32.221 --> 00:14:34.743
That's the pattern that we have to have today.

00:14:34.743 --> 00:14:45.913
So, moses, these people, whether we believe it or not, they didn't know Moses.

00:14:45.913 --> 00:14:46.212
Think about it.

00:14:46.212 --> 00:14:52.081
They said this fellow, moses, this fellow like I don't know that man, but they knew Aaron.

00:14:52.081 --> 00:14:54.846
Aaron knows their past.

00:14:54.846 --> 00:15:03.590
Aaron knows where they come from, because Aaron was a part of that group, hence why it was so easy for him to say to them give me your earrings.

00:15:03.590 --> 00:15:07.721
And here comes this golden calf, because that's what they're accustomed to.

00:15:09.610 --> 00:15:18.975
If you're shackled to bondage, you're going to always remain shackled to bondage Once you become free.

00:15:18.975 --> 00:15:20.941
You have to know that you are free.

00:15:20.941 --> 00:15:26.981
If you don't know that you're free, you're going to continue operating in the shackles.

00:15:26.981 --> 00:15:36.419
Hence Juneteenth Right, we have a set of people and I tell people all the time American history is not Adney's history.

00:15:36.419 --> 00:15:38.183
Adney's history is Haitian history.

00:15:38.183 --> 00:15:44.159
But when I read about, you know how people were free.

00:15:44.159 --> 00:15:46.124
But people in Texas didn't even know it was free.

00:15:46.124 --> 00:15:46.610
They were still.

00:15:46.610 --> 00:15:48.296
They were still enslaved.

00:15:48.296 --> 00:15:53.389
These people were still enslaved to the gods of the Egyptians.

00:15:53.389 --> 00:15:55.452
These people were still enslaved to the gods of the Egyptians.

00:15:55.452 --> 00:16:02.081
So, because they were still enslaved to the gods of the Egyptians and they had no relationship with Moses, make us God.

00:16:02.081 --> 00:16:03.982
They saw everything that God did.

00:16:03.982 --> 00:16:05.946
They saw it.

00:16:05.946 --> 00:16:08.412
They saw it hands down.

00:16:08.412 --> 00:16:12.142
They saw how God told them to put the blood and the death angel pass.

00:16:12.142 --> 00:16:14.379
They saw the frogs.

00:16:14.379 --> 00:16:16.611
They saw the gnat.

00:16:16.611 --> 00:16:18.655
They saw all of that, all of those wonders.

00:16:18.655 --> 00:16:29.182
But again, if you don't know that you're free, you're going to remain in bondage, you're going to remain shackled to Egypt.

00:16:29.182 --> 00:16:32.519
And they did not realize that they were free.

00:16:32.519 --> 00:16:38.077
And I love how you said that Aaron didn't take responsibility.

00:16:38.077 --> 00:16:42.899
Out of everyone, aaron should have been, because half the stuff was done by him.

00:16:42.899 --> 00:16:49.057
He was the mouthpiece, like God used you to talk, since your brother say he couldn't do it.

00:16:49.057 --> 00:16:50.013
So how you.

00:16:50.013 --> 00:16:58.736
If anybody had a relationship with Moses, it should have been you saying wait a minute, hold up, he, he's talking to God.

00:16:58.736 --> 00:16:59.658
Let's be patient.

00:16:59.658 --> 00:17:05.305
But again, if you don't recognize that you're free, you're going to remain in bondage.

00:17:05.305 --> 00:17:14.134
Let's bring it to modern day.

00:17:14.153 --> 00:17:15.703
When we are going out to save souls, we have to establish relationship.

00:17:15.703 --> 00:17:22.143
We have to teach them Jesus, because it's not about teaching them the church, it's about teaching them Christ and him crucified.

00:17:22.143 --> 00:17:35.226
It's about getting them into a relationship with Christ before we dip them in the water, because what happens is oh my goodness, I don't have to live this lifestyle.

00:17:35.226 --> 00:17:45.884
I may struggle with it, but because I love God, I don't have to be in bondage to it, and that's what we have to get to y'all.

00:17:45.884 --> 00:17:49.594
And I'm learning this more now than ever.

00:17:49.594 --> 00:17:51.336
I was taught church.

00:17:51.336 --> 00:17:53.598
Now I'm learning.

00:17:53.598 --> 00:17:55.882
I am part of the church.

00:17:55.882 --> 00:18:10.711
I'm a flawed individual, I sin, but learning Jesus and him crucified and how I have to let this mind be in me, which was also in Christ Jesus.

00:18:10.711 --> 00:18:17.912
They didn't have the mind of God, so did we expect anything less from the children of Israel.

00:18:17.912 --> 00:18:25.765
No, because, if we're honest, many of us have been enslaved to our path.

00:18:25.765 --> 00:18:27.811
Some of us we've been freed.

00:18:27.811 --> 00:18:31.116
I'm just saying.

00:18:32.358 --> 00:18:34.101
Amen, amen, yeah.

00:18:34.101 --> 00:18:37.286
Yeah, both of you guys brought us some really great points.

00:18:37.286 --> 00:18:56.162
But what I want to say, just to add on to what y'all said I like how y'all brought up the new converts thing, but for me it was God called Aaron into, you know, a position of high priest in Exodus, chapter 28.

00:18:56.162 --> 00:19:04.221
So not only that, he was Moses' right hand man, but here's a calling, and we know what the priests in that day stood for.

00:19:04.221 --> 00:19:08.337
The priests were like a mediator between God and the people.

00:19:08.337 --> 00:19:14.121
They're the ones that went before God and they sacrificed on behalf of the people when they committed such sins.

00:19:14.121 --> 00:19:28.295
So when I think about those things Aaron being a high priest and then we fast forward to Exodus 32, you would think, as a leader, as the high priest, someone who goes before God on behalf of the people, that he would know better.

00:19:28.295 --> 00:19:31.612
So the Bible says, for what much is given, more is required.

00:19:31.612 --> 00:19:39.078
Because, a leader, you expect them to have some kind of spiritual maturity, right?

00:19:39.078 --> 00:19:43.977
Because we know the children of Israel, we could say that, okay, they don't know better.

00:19:43.977 --> 00:19:48.593
All they knew was being in bondage, mentally and physically, when they were in Egypt.

00:19:48.593 --> 00:19:50.278
And here it is they're in the wilderness.

00:19:50.278 --> 00:19:52.271
They tell an errand, to build them a golden cap.

00:19:52.271 --> 00:20:05.321
And this is where the leadership part comes in, because even when Moses came down, moses specifically said in 21, verse 21 of chapter 32, what did these people do to you?

00:20:05.321 --> 00:20:13.778
That's like a person that's weak converting a person that's strong.

00:20:13.778 --> 00:20:16.211
You would think that they ought to know better, right?

00:20:16.211 --> 00:20:17.596
So here's again.

00:20:17.596 --> 00:20:20.392
These people are not high priests, they're just regular, they're sheep.

00:20:20.392 --> 00:20:21.315
They're sheep.

00:20:21.315 --> 00:20:32.511
And here's a leader that has a high position, and Moses confronted Aaron and say man, what these people did to you, what these people, it's equivalent to like a seasoned Christian.

00:20:32.511 --> 00:20:37.941
And that's why I say I like the fact that y'all brought up a new convert, because the new converts, they don't know any better.

00:20:37.941 --> 00:20:43.099
It takes time, it takes pruning, it takes seasons for them to grow into maturity.

00:20:43.099 --> 00:20:48.839
So, yeah, new converts, they're going to do a lot of things and you know, we got to work with them, be patient with them.

00:20:48.839 --> 00:21:02.195
We got to pray with them, have Bible studies with them and show them the way to build a relationship with Christ.

00:21:02.195 --> 00:21:06.106
But it's equivalent to a new convert, a new convert causing a seasoned Christian to fall short, as though the seasoned Christian is a new convert, right?

00:21:06.106 --> 00:21:09.596
So the new convert could say hey, man, you know I'm used to doing this.

00:21:09.596 --> 00:21:14.076
And then the leader could say yeah, you know what You're right, let's go ahead and do it.

00:21:14.076 --> 00:21:20.874
So you would think that the seasoned Christian would know better, and that's why I'm seeing this.

00:21:20.894 --> 00:21:28.252
And Aaron replied, even unto Moses, and said look, moses, you know how prone these people have, a tendency to sin.

00:21:28.252 --> 00:21:29.634
They love evil.

00:21:29.634 --> 00:21:36.284
He said these people are prone to evil, to doing evil Again.

00:21:36.284 --> 00:21:39.433
It goes back to saying that Aaron, he should have known better.

00:21:39.433 --> 00:21:46.773
And I like the thought that Moses, he confronted Aaron because you need leaders like that.

00:21:46.773 --> 00:21:58.659
You need leaders that when a leader, another leader, is in error, you need another leader to rebuke a leader in love, because we know that open rebuke is better than secret love.

00:21:59.130 --> 00:22:10.596
Because imagine you have this leader, moses, and this leader, aaron, and he notices Aaron build a golden cap and he just looks side-eyed like he didn't see nothing, like I see it, but I didn't see it.

00:22:10.596 --> 00:22:13.519
Now, keep in mind, moses just had a conversation with God.

00:22:13.519 --> 00:22:16.699
So imagine, picture a scenery where Moses come down.

00:22:16.699 --> 00:22:19.957
He said yeah, I see it, but I don't see it after having a conversation with God.

00:22:19.957 --> 00:22:35.682
But it shows you that Moses was willing to confront his brother, his high priest, and said like dude, like you, good, like what happened to you, we did all this miraculous things with God and here you are, you building a golden cap.

00:22:35.682 --> 00:22:42.393
You took heed, you listened to these stiff neck individuals and you did exactly what they wanted you to do.

00:22:42.393 --> 00:22:43.858
You didn't have to do that.

00:22:43.858 --> 00:22:53.281
So this is where his leadership shoes, his leadership capture the kid, kick in and he should have, kind of like, rebuked the people and properly instruct them about the ordinance of the Lord.

00:22:53.801 --> 00:23:00.258
Okay, and I'm going to say this again Aaron was in bondage.

00:23:00.258 --> 00:23:08.237
Just because you're elevated to leadership does not know that you know how to govern the office that you have been given.

00:23:08.237 --> 00:23:11.284
You can be convinced and not convicted.

00:23:11.284 --> 00:23:19.311
Convinced and not convicted.

00:23:19.311 --> 00:23:20.453
What Aaron showed was like he was convinced.

00:23:20.453 --> 00:23:25.141
He didn't show a conviction in trusting God, my spiritual father, clyde Ruzon.

00:23:25.221 --> 00:23:32.452
He always said sometimes, when you look at leaders in the church, yes, they say they desire the position.

00:23:32.452 --> 00:23:34.855
But what does that mean?

00:23:34.855 --> 00:23:40.458
Sometimes they desire the work but they don't desire.

00:23:40.458 --> 00:23:45.181
I'm sorry, they desire the office but they don't desire what comes with that office.

00:23:45.181 --> 00:23:53.326
Right, the flock you have to be able to defend.

00:23:53.326 --> 00:23:58.634
You have to be able to teach, you have to be able to do all this different stuff.

00:23:58.634 --> 00:24:06.742
If you're saying you want to be an elder or a deacon, sometimes it's just for the title and not so much so for the position.

00:24:06.742 --> 00:24:14.884
He had the title but he did not fulfill the position because in the position he would know wait a minute.

00:24:15.810 --> 00:24:19.317
I'm the one that went with Moses to Pharaoh.

00:24:19.317 --> 00:24:22.723
God put me in a position to talk to this man.

00:24:22.723 --> 00:24:24.112
I would have never had that.

00:24:24.112 --> 00:24:30.873
The only reason Aaron was able to go before Pharaoh was because of Moses, because Moses grew up in the house.

00:24:30.873 --> 00:24:37.404
Aaron would never have been called to stand in front of Pharaoh.

00:24:37.404 --> 00:24:45.075
He was a slave and he was honestly operating in his slave mentality, no matter how much he said.

00:24:45.075 --> 00:24:47.000
You know how evil these people are.

00:24:47.000 --> 00:24:59.798
You're part of that because you hadn't been freed either, because you took Egypt with you into the wilderness and you didn't leave Egypt behind when everything that was done, you had a hand in it.

00:24:59.798 --> 00:25:03.403
Aaron had a hand in it.

00:25:03.403 --> 00:25:07.199
Yes, god elevated him, but Aaron didn't elevate.

00:25:07.199 --> 00:25:08.561
Aaron didn't elevate.

00:25:08.561 --> 00:25:20.603
God can elevate us and we still stay in the same position and God is saying come on, I'm taking you higher, I'm elevating you, but you're still in that same position.

00:25:20.603 --> 00:25:22.689
God elevated Aaron.

00:25:22.689 --> 00:25:24.271
Aaron didn't elevate himself.

00:25:25.275 --> 00:25:27.720
No, no, I love that.

00:25:27.720 --> 00:25:31.008
It's just gosh.

00:25:31.008 --> 00:25:32.471
I mean, everything you guys were saying.

00:25:32.471 --> 00:25:33.815
I'm like, oh my, my gosh, oh my gosh.

00:25:33.815 --> 00:25:44.910
It's like hyperlinks you click and the whole webpage pulls up of things to say and thoughts, gosh.

00:25:44.951 --> 00:25:54.545
So I was watching I think it's a YouTube channel, it's like Middle Ground or Jubilee, whatever, where they have two opposing ideologies.

00:25:54.545 --> 00:26:04.803
They come and they meet and they talk about various subjects and I guess the algorithm chose Christian versus ex-Christian.

00:26:04.803 --> 00:26:12.115
And I didn't listen to the whole thing, but maybe about halfway through I'm like okay, because I was washing dishes.

00:26:12.115 --> 00:26:17.792
About halfway through I'm like okay, because I was washing dishes.

00:26:17.792 --> 00:26:32.933
So a lot of the ex-Christians you know it was basically like well, this is what I see people doing that say that they believe and that's a contradiction, so I don't believe it.

00:26:32.933 --> 00:26:35.261
And then you know the Christians on the Christian side, those who profess.

00:26:35.261 --> 00:26:42.156
I mean they made a lot of good points, but for me now, mind you, I did not listen to the whole thing, so maybe it was brought up later.

00:26:44.411 --> 00:27:06.075
But what we try to, where we go wrong a lot of the times, is we look at the, at the human representation of the supernatural order, and we judge the order on the performance of the human.

00:27:06.075 --> 00:27:19.395
If the human messes up, we then say, well, that supernatural order, that parting of the Red Sea, the plagues, you know all that is defunct.

00:27:19.395 --> 00:27:30.089
All that is defunct Because you had, at least on this particular episode, you know, you had, you know people who were homosexual and they just saw that.

00:27:30.089 --> 00:27:37.176
You know, yeah, there's just so much hate toward the community and I just wanted to be loved and I thought Jesus was love.

00:27:37.176 --> 00:27:40.984
So, you know, they had their own ideologies and me.

00:27:40.984 --> 00:27:47.211
I'm listening to a lot of it and of course, there was a lot more said, even some diabolical things too.

00:27:47.211 --> 00:27:54.873
But I'm like you know what, if you just take the human element out and leave it just on Jesus, it'll answer all your questions.

00:27:54.873 --> 00:27:57.324
Because that's just like.

00:27:57.324 --> 00:28:07.806
That's just like me saying you know what I don't believe in the gym, because every time I go to the gym I see a fat person, but it's me looking at myself in the mirror.

00:28:07.806 --> 00:28:08.607
Yeah, you're fat.

00:28:08.607 --> 00:28:09.391
Behind on walking in.

00:28:09.391 --> 00:28:11.287
Yeah, look at you, I'll be in the gym.

00:28:11.287 --> 00:28:13.507
Well, where are they supposed to be?

00:28:13.507 --> 00:28:16.701
Someone who's out of shape, they're supposed to be there.

00:28:16.701 --> 00:28:17.262
Someone who's in shape?

00:28:17.262 --> 00:28:17.923
They're supposed to be there.

00:28:17.923 --> 00:28:19.045
It's for everyone.

00:28:19.045 --> 00:28:24.393
This is not me promoting a gym, I'm just trying to give the example of that.

00:28:24.472 --> 00:28:34.880
When we look at the Bible not even the church when we look at the Bible, the Bible can stand on its own merit.

00:28:34.880 --> 00:28:40.963
By the time you lower your optics to the person, you've already messed up.

00:28:40.963 --> 00:28:41.852
You'll always find something wrong.

00:28:41.852 --> 00:28:43.401
You will always find something to make an excuse.

00:28:43.401 --> 00:28:49.440
You will always find a reason to you know kind of bend, a rule here and there.

00:28:49.440 --> 00:28:58.710
That's why we are to be Christ-like, that is why we are to be in the image of God, be in the image of God.

00:28:58.710 --> 00:29:04.415
And that is going to take, if you're listening, your whole entire life.

00:29:04.415 --> 00:29:14.539
And even if you lived a hundred lives, you still wouldn't get it right.

00:29:17.440 --> 00:29:28.513
Because one of the big points of especially and this is going back to new converts and how they're led astray and then where Aaron went wrong and you know where we go wrong is that we may not say it this way, but we act this way.

00:29:28.513 --> 00:29:29.935
We say you know what, act like me.

00:29:29.935 --> 00:30:05.535
And if you watch anyone close enough, you're going to find a contradiction which is going to undo and unpack but what the new convert needs to understand and what Moses needs to understand and we will read that he did understand that is, that there is grace, that your perfection is actually made in you striving for perfection, it's in the progress of.

00:30:05.535 --> 00:30:17.105
So when I listen to people do the interview and they try to compare Christianity as a whole with the performance of people, it's like no, you're missing it, it's Christ, the individual.

00:30:17.105 --> 00:30:19.546
I can go on a long rant about that.

00:30:20.365 --> 00:30:33.570
But we also see here, you know, in Aaron's position, someone I mean, if he's just the politician, who's going to be the spokesperson for, you know, for the, you know, commander in chief?

00:30:33.570 --> 00:30:34.872
I guess Moses.

00:30:34.872 --> 00:30:36.353
He was just doing his job.

00:30:36.353 --> 00:30:40.213
He was just doing his job, didn't say he was doing a good job, he was doing his job.

00:30:40.213 --> 00:30:50.939
But how many people are, in their own minds, justified in what they're doing by doing their own job but doing damage?

00:30:50.939 --> 00:30:58.534
And here's the thing he knew he was doing damage because he said you know how prone these people are to evil.

00:31:00.580 --> 00:31:10.068
So you knew that going in, but yet you still conformed what's normal is not natural Just because it's the norm.

00:31:10.068 --> 00:31:13.255
Look at how many things are normal now.

00:31:13.255 --> 00:31:26.548
Now, I'm not going to start pointing out things, but it doesn't take too much whether you want to look at it from a financial standpoint, a familial standpoint, a faith standpoint.

00:31:26.548 --> 00:31:31.928
There are a lot of things in this world that are normal but not natural.

00:31:31.928 --> 00:31:37.403
When I say natural, I mean like the natural order in which God intended for it to be.

00:31:37.403 --> 00:31:45.375
So when we look at the norm, it just gives us a sedative for any type of judgment.

00:31:45.375 --> 00:31:50.089
We don't feel the heat because we look to the left, we look to the right.

00:31:50.089 --> 00:31:52.702
Everyone's doing it, the whole crowd's doing it.

00:31:54.366 --> 00:31:58.962
When you're in sin, listen, you're in good company, but look at where Moses is.

00:31:58.962 --> 00:32:01.648
When you're close to God, you're isolated.

00:32:01.648 --> 00:32:14.040
And it's going to take isolation, biblical phrasing, sanctification, to do this Because, listen, you know how these people are.

00:32:14.040 --> 00:32:23.875
Listen, the ocean is always going to be bigger than you, but it's your job as the Christian, on learning how to navigate those waters.

00:32:23.875 --> 00:32:26.903
We're not saying don't get in the water.

00:32:26.903 --> 00:32:38.934
Get in the water, go into the wilderness, navigate through this and you're going to be by yourself most of the time in terms of physical aspect.

00:32:38.934 --> 00:32:39.622
But guess what?

00:32:39.622 --> 00:32:40.727
We have an advocate.

00:32:40.727 --> 00:32:42.755
We do have a guide.

00:32:42.755 --> 00:32:45.763
We have someone who's been there, done that.

00:32:45.763 --> 00:32:46.305
Matter of fact.

00:32:46.305 --> 00:32:57.513
I made the woods, I made the water, I made the people, I got the manufacturer's warranty and manual on how to deal with people and it's called the Bible.

00:32:57.513 --> 00:33:10.134
So if you try to do this on your own, of course you're going to, not because, because understand this, how did the devil first appear?

00:33:11.355 --> 00:33:26.385
Subtle, little little bit of influence, a little bit of persuasion.

00:33:26.385 --> 00:33:28.451
Let's look at it from a different angle, because that's what serpents do.

00:33:28.451 --> 00:33:30.457
They don't travel in a straight line, they slither.

00:33:30.457 --> 00:33:33.247
They're always coming at some sort of angle.

00:33:33.247 --> 00:33:35.715
So now you hear Aaron's angle.

00:33:35.715 --> 00:33:43.733
He's actually more evil than these people because now he put a voice to their dysfunction.

00:33:43.733 --> 00:33:47.288
No one in that crowd said hey, aaron, you know we evil.

00:33:47.288 --> 00:33:48.230
Right, let's make a calf.

00:33:50.161 --> 00:33:50.982
No one said that.

00:33:50.982 --> 00:33:55.353
Amen, amen, yeah, yeah.

00:33:55.353 --> 00:34:08.271
Let me say this before we wrap things up, man Ray, you brought us some great points, man and man, we probably could go another hour based on what you just said, but I just want to wrap things up and I'll have Adney say some closing remarks.

00:34:08.271 --> 00:34:10.847
But this is what I want to say, based on what you said, ray.

00:34:10.847 --> 00:34:31.262
And the thing is, when we look at godly individuals, people that consider themselves Christians I like how you brought up sometimes people look at folk right, and they have reasons to why they don't want to follow God, because they may look at the church per se Christians.

00:34:31.262 --> 00:34:32.505
They're hypocrites.

00:34:32.505 --> 00:34:34.771
They're doing the same things we do.

00:34:34.771 --> 00:34:38.224
Ain't no difference, right?

00:34:38.224 --> 00:34:42.931
So people do that because they don't want to follow Jesus.

00:34:42.931 --> 00:34:44.074
But this is what I want to say.

00:34:44.074 --> 00:35:00.268
So, when we read scriptures like this this is why I say we need Jesus because we are fallible, we are imperfect, and we need someone, someone greater than us, that could help us in our imperfections.

00:35:00.268 --> 00:35:23.942
So when we read stories like Aaron and Moses and things that, and even throughout the whole Bible, because there was only one perfect being, his name was Jesus I recall in my Bible, in Genesis, chapter two, verse 17, it says but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil thou shalt not eat, for in the day that thou shalt eateth thereof, thou shalt surely die.

00:35:23.942 --> 00:35:26.407
That's a spiritual death and a physical death.

00:35:26.407 --> 00:35:33.233
So Adam and Eve ate from the tree of good and evil and of course they became like gods.

00:35:33.233 --> 00:35:36.463
They was already gods, but they were deceived by the enemy.

00:35:36.463 --> 00:35:38.025
So now it's a choice.

00:35:38.025 --> 00:35:43.394
We could choose to do good or we could choose to do evil.

00:35:43.394 --> 00:35:49.822
But God is saying like, hey, I'm going to give you the wisdom so you could be able to make the right decisions.

00:35:49.822 --> 00:35:55.061
But what man does, man, you know, every time that I want to do good, evil is always present.

00:35:55.061 --> 00:36:00.530
So that's why he said the people were prone to evil, like that's what they know.

00:36:00.530 --> 00:36:02.514
They know to do what's wrong.

00:36:02.514 --> 00:36:11.534
But, like we said, we would hope that out of all the great things that God was doing in Aaron's life by using him, he would know better.

00:36:11.534 --> 00:36:11.815
Right?

00:36:11.815 --> 00:36:16.010
So I like how you brought that up, ray.

00:36:16.010 --> 00:36:29.112
And also one final thought is that and I know you guys said it that Aaron didn't take responsibility, and it goes to show you it goes back to the garden how, when God told Adam hey, where are you Right?

00:36:29.112 --> 00:36:30.626
And then they start playing the blame game.

00:36:30.626 --> 00:36:34.090
Adam, it's the wife you gave me, the woman Eve.

00:36:34.090 --> 00:36:35.626
No, it's the serpent.

00:36:35.626 --> 00:36:39.869
So, instead of Aaron's taking responsibility you know what?

00:36:39.869 --> 00:36:40.751
You know what, moses?

00:36:40.751 --> 00:36:45.851
These people are prone to evil he could have told Moses hey, moses, yeah, you're right, you're right, that's on me.

00:36:45.851 --> 00:36:56.994
So, ray, I've been watching the playoff basketball games, the playoffs, the NBA playoffs is on right now and in some teams, man, they begin to be real bad man.

00:36:57.036 --> 00:36:59.523
I'm not going to call no teams out like that, not on this podcast.

00:36:59.523 --> 00:37:01.541
But when I watched the basketball game and I'm like man I'm not going to call no teams out like that, not on this podcast.

00:37:01.541 --> 00:37:04.588
But when I watch the basketball game and I'm like man, boy, they got blown out by 30.

00:37:04.588 --> 00:37:05.891
They get blown out by 40.

00:37:05.891 --> 00:37:15.965
And then they have a press conference After the game, the news reporters, they talk to the star players, and the star players, with the star players, they'll say hey, man, what you think happened in the game?

00:37:16.407 --> 00:37:21.052
And then some star players not all the ones that get it they say you know what?

00:37:21.052 --> 00:37:22.375
I put that loss on me.

00:37:22.375 --> 00:37:27.610
They take ownership, they take responsibility because they look at it like man, it's something that I could have done better.

00:37:27.610 --> 00:37:31.548
Maybe I was slacking, maybe I didn't take heed to the coach's instructions.

00:37:31.548 --> 00:37:34.289
Maybe I didn't take heed to God's instructions, right?

00:37:34.289 --> 00:37:39.588
Maybe it was a play that the coach wanted me to fulfill and I didn't fulfill it.

00:37:39.588 --> 00:37:42.934
Maybe it was a play that God wanted me to fulfill and I didn't fulfill it.

00:37:42.934 --> 00:37:46.007
So I think the player came to the knowledge of.

00:37:46.007 --> 00:37:46.547
You know what?

00:37:46.547 --> 00:37:48.532
It's on me.

00:37:48.532 --> 00:38:07.431
I got to take responsibility, and that's what I want to say, because God has the blueprint, god has the playbook, which is the Bible and His Holy Spirit, which is the Bible and his Holy Spirit, but it's up to each individual to take heed to that in order to be a better saint today than they were yesterday.

00:38:07.431 --> 00:38:08.032
Go ahead, adni.

00:38:10.202 --> 00:38:22.260
I'm just loving this discussion and again, what always comes to mind is this we are here as spirits on a human journey and not humans on a spiritual journey.

00:38:22.260 --> 00:38:26.307
That's from Brother Daniels and then Brother Orpheus.

00:38:26.307 --> 00:38:28.559
I love when he said this in a sermon he preached.

00:38:28.559 --> 00:38:36.945
He said we are quick to say there are hypocrites in the church, but you have hypocrites on your job, you have hypocrites in the store.

00:38:36.965 --> 00:38:37.548
Lord have mercy.

00:38:37.699 --> 00:38:39.367
You have hypocrites that drive.

00:38:39.367 --> 00:38:40.543
You ain't stopping any of that.

00:38:40.543 --> 00:38:40.967
You still go to work.

00:38:40.967 --> 00:38:41.489
You still go to the store.

00:38:41.489 --> 00:38:42.193
You have hypocrites that drive.

00:38:42.193 --> 00:38:42.878
You ain't stopping any of that.

00:38:42.878 --> 00:38:43.300
You still go to work.

00:38:43.300 --> 00:38:46.568
You still go to the supermarket, you still drive.

00:38:46.568 --> 00:38:54.630
So why is it, when it comes to a relationship with Jesus, you focus on the hypocrites?

00:38:54.630 --> 00:38:56.715
All of us wear masks.

00:38:56.715 --> 00:39:02.512
If anybody understands the definition of hypocrite, it literally just means actor.

00:39:02.512 --> 00:39:09.713
Every single last one of us are actors, period.

00:39:09.980 --> 00:39:13.110
Especially you, annie, in your play you're about to watch.

00:39:13.110 --> 00:39:17.757
We're not going to call you a hypocrite like that, but you know, just it was there, I couldn't help it.

00:39:17.757 --> 00:39:18.380
I couldn't help it.

00:39:18.380 --> 00:39:20.009
I know we're trying to be serious, but, sorry, I'll mute.

00:39:20.028 --> 00:39:21.820
Help it, I couldn't help it, I know we're trying to be serious, but, sorry, I'll mute my mic.

00:39:21.820 --> 00:39:30.175
We all have to understand the only reason we transform is to allow Jesus to have his way with us.

00:39:30.175 --> 00:39:33.987
We can take a look at Aaron and see Aaron's flaws.

00:39:33.987 --> 00:39:35.873
All of us are flawed.

00:39:35.873 --> 00:39:43.994
The only person that can change us, that can transform us, is Jesus.

00:39:43.994 --> 00:39:47.190
We got to keep our eyes on him and him alone.

00:39:47.190 --> 00:39:59.333
What that shows me is Aaron took his eyes off of God and he allowed the people to distract him, and he and he forgot everything that just happened before they got into that wilderness.

00:39:59.333 --> 00:40:01.327
We do that every single day.

00:40:01.327 --> 00:40:05.766
So if I'm going to say something to someone Hold on One more.

00:40:05.826 --> 00:40:06.327
One more, I'm sorry.

00:40:06.387 --> 00:40:07.748
I'm sorry, go ahead, go ahead, okay.

00:40:07.748 --> 00:40:18.746
All I'm saying is that now we don't want anyone to listen to this and say, okay, well, the church is full of hypocrites and therefore I'm not going to go.

00:40:18.746 --> 00:40:21.931
Brother Vance Davis said this and I'm like.

00:40:21.931 --> 00:40:22.974
Well, there it is.

00:40:22.974 --> 00:40:31.838
You have to ask yourself the question, just like Adney alluded to by quoting some of the other great ministers, about there's hypocrites everywhere, but you still got to function.

00:40:31.838 --> 00:40:39.362
The reason why you still need to be in church is because of this thought Whenever you have people, you're going to have problems.

00:40:39.362 --> 00:40:40.606
You're always going to have hypocrites.

00:40:40.606 --> 00:40:48.586
Now the question is would you rather spend, let's say, 30, 40, 50 years with the hypocrite in church or an eternity in hell with them?

00:40:49.309 --> 00:40:49.811
Mercy.

00:40:49.811 --> 00:40:50.835
That's a mic drop.

00:40:50.835 --> 00:40:53.947
All right, y'all, stay tuned for the next episode.

00:40:53.947 --> 00:40:54.889
God bless y'all.

00:40:54.889 --> 00:40:59.663
Remember that Jesus Christ is the King of Kings and he's the Lord of Lords.

00:40:59.663 --> 00:41:00.443
Be blessed.

00:41:00.443 --> 00:41:06.768
That's it for now, but before we go, please continue to listen, subscribe and share our podcast.
